The Wheel

Dan Miller - rhythm/lead guitar

Dan has been playing guitar for over forty years now. He has managed to work solidly in the music industry for 28 of those years, playing most all types and genres, with an emphasis on acoustic guitar. Country to Klezmer, Bluegrass to Big Band, Rock to Renaissance, he's played them all. His long-time stated goal is to be "The World's Greatest Rhythm Guitar Player." Dan is known for sending long, rambling, occasionally pointless emails to people, his fanatical love of reading, and cooking meals for his friends. It's rumored that he can sing, but he's managed to avoid it so far.

Rob Schrecongost - bass/shaker

Rob has been studying and playing bass guitar for the past 18 years. Citing influences such as James Jamerson, Mark King, and John Paul Jones, his colorful, hook-oriented bass lines allow him to generate a solid low-end groove. Rob has played with The Furleys, Pale Green Pants, Radio Flyers, The Very Foundation, and most recently, The Brian Copeland Band. In addition, he has also made contributions to various studio projects over the years.

Birger Olsen - mandolin/slide guitar/vocals

Folk blues musician, Birger Olsen, handles the mandolin and slide guitar, and occasionally, a strange sounding teal-green mystery instrument. Since studying classical guitar growing up, Birger has ventured into a variety of musical styles, from rock to gypsy to blues, and now country. His broad range of experience gives his playing a uniquely traditional-yet-innovative feel—a perfect compliment to Alison's songwriting.
